Clinical Urology Skills: Local Anaesthetic Transperineal Biopsy – Edge Hill University

The Local Anaesthetic Transperineal Biopsy (LATP) module is delivered in partnership with Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, and it will equip the student with the necessary skills and techniques to undertake transperineal biopsies under local anaesthetic in men. The module uses a competency document for training and assessment, contextualised with a sound theoretical and practical knowledge base. The student will develop a sound knowledge base, underpinned by contemporary, evidence-based urology clinical practice. To acquire the skills to perform LATP you will need to identify a designated clinical supervisor to work alongside.
